SHINKIBUS Group runs local buses in Hyogo Pref., and also expends their business in real estate and tourism industry. The luxury tour bus - "YUI PRIMA" introduced in 2016 attracted a lot of attention.

The goal of their tourism brand is "Give you a bus tour you never experienced". As one step of turning the brand into a profitable business, they asked Eiji Mitooka, who also designed the luxury tourism train - "Seven Stars in Kyushu" for JR Kyushu to design their new sightseeing bus. The leather seat used in it, will give you a special feeling during the ride.

Since we want to put our local - Hyogo Pref's elements into the bus's design, we asked Sanyo Leather for help. Even though this is their first time to produce leather for bus, they use their experience and make color and shrink that match Eiji Mitooka's image perfectly. And their leather passed and got the highest score in the flame resistence test, which is an indispenable part of the bus quality. It's been 5 years since the birth, and leather is showing its aged and mature face.

COMMENT
We visited Mr. Mitooka's studio, showed him the leather, and presented the characters and functions of leather. Finally, we make this collaboration with Shinki Bus come true. We, a tannery from Himeji, use the Japan's rawhide to make leather and help Shinki Bus to build their new bus. When worked on color and shrink, we did many trial on small leather pieces and finally got what we want. We believe those leather seats, with all the details, were what the bus manufacturer and seat manufacturer are looking for.
